Polymaker has released a new, modular dry box that they state will change the standard for filament drying. Based on a dock and box design, this modular system has a dock that controls the drying of the filament that can connect and disconnect from the drying box. This allows you to keep already dried filament in the box and move the dryer to the next roll of filament you are looking to dry.

Each individual box has a humidity sensor so you know exactly where each spool is sitting from a moisture perspective. The price is a bit steep at $70 for dock and a box and additional boxes at $30 but it could be useful for those looking for a modular drying system.

Biology + 3D printing = programmable living materials (2 minute read) - Link

Scientists have 3D printed living materials using plant cells and genetic modification. This allows for programmable materials that can grow, respond to their environment, and even produce desired substances. Previously, such materials relied on bacteria or fungi, but plant cells offer new possibilities for complex shapes and functionalities. The researchers were able to print intricate structures and program the plant cells to produce pigments, demonstrating the potential for these materials in biomanufacturing, sustainable construction, and more.
