xTool opens preorders for their new F1 Ultra Fiber & Diode Laser - Link
xTool is taking pre-orders for their new F1 Ultra laser cutter, boasting it as the best of both worlds: a 20-watt fiber and diode dual laser system. This machine aims to bridge the gap between fiber lasers (great for metals, fast speeds) and diode lasers (better for other materials). The F1 Ultra promises "almost all materials" engraving and cutting capabilities at high speeds.
With a focus on small businesses, the F1 Ultra is sized for desktop use but offers a large working area (220x220mm) and the option to expand with a conveyor belt.Additional features include deep engraving/embossing, curved surface engraving, metal color engraving, and rotary engraving support. An internal camera aids in automatic pattern recognition and streamlined production.
For a limited time, pre-orders come with a $1000 discount, bringing the price down to $3799.

Blurred light used to 3D print high quality lenses (5 minute read) - Link
Researchers developed a new 3D printing method called "blurred tomography" that creates high-quality microlenses in just 30 minutes. This method offers a faster and cheaper alternative to traditional techniques for producing optical components.
Conventional tomographic printing creates surface roughness on lenses, but blurred tomography avoids this issue by intentionally blurring the light beams used for printing. This allows for smooth surfaces and high-quality imaging performance.
The researchers successfully printed a plano-convex lens with performance comparable to a commercial glass lens.Additionally, they were able to print a 3x3 array of microlenses and use blurred tomography for overprinting, previously only possible with a more complex technique.
This new method has the potential to revolutionize optical device design by enabling rapid and cost-effective prototyping of complex shapes.

German team create āworld firstā 3D print (2 minute read) - Link
A German team has achieved a world first by 3D-printing a warehouse in Stuttgart with load-bearing concrete walls. This continuous 3D-printing process uses a truck-mounted pump to spray concrete across multiple layers. This Karlos technology is faster than gantry printers and reduces manual labor, potentially addressing skilled worker shortages in construction.

š Cool 3D Prints
Weāve said it before but weāll say it again: we love functional prints. This 3D printed Bag Coat Hanger is a great addition if you are like us and have 3 or more different bags you use for different occasions. Itās tough to find a spot for your bags. Whether itās on the ground, in the corner of your office, in the back of your closet. This print makes it easy to hang them in your closet and make them more accessible.
