Blender Foundation released a major update for Blender LTS, version 4.2 late last week. This update brings major improvements across the board, including a rewritten rendering engine (EEVEE) with new features, enhancements to Cycles (another rendering engine), and a new add-on management system called "Extensions".

EEVEE now supports global illumination, real displacement, better subsurface scattering, and viewport motion blur.Cycles benefits from better reflections, light transport, and other features for faster and higher quality renders.

The update also improves the Compositor (for post-processing effects), Geometry Nodes (for procedural modeling), and the Video Sequencer (for video editing). Finally, Blender 4.2 integrates a new color mapping system for more accurate renders and includes various improvements to other areas of the software.

Prusa Adds Automatic Cold Pull Feature to MK4 Firmware (1 minute watch) - Link

Great news for Prusa MK4 owners! There's a new automatic cold pull feature in firmware 6.0.0. This is a simple solution for partially clogged nozzles and keeps your printer running smoothly. HyDesign also offers features like meshless simulation (beta) and browser-based design to streamline the process and reduce trial and error. Overall, this software aims to make creating lattice structures faster, easier, and more cost-effective.

Aibuild's software automates toolpath generation and offers AI recommendations, allowing users to create successful prints 86% faster with 65% fewer failures. If you have small kids this print is well worth the short print time. Kids notoriously have troubles opening drink cans, but with this you can enable them to easily open them on their own! Additionally, you can leave the print on your can’s tab and swivel it over the top of the open can in order to keep bugs, or other debris out of your drink. Two birds with one stone!
